Change General preferences in Maps on Mac
In the Maps app on your Mac, use General preferences to customise the appearance of your maps.
To change these preferences, choose Maps > Preferences, then click General.

Show Air Quality Index (AQI) | Show information about air quality on maps. The Air Quality Index (AQI) uses information from monitoring sites to measure the level of air pollution. AQI values range from 0–500; lower numbers indicate better air quality. | ||||||||||
Always show Compass | Show the compass in the lower-right corner on the map. | ||||||||||
Always show Zoom Controls | Show the zoom-out and zoom-in buttons in the lower-right corner on the map. | ||||||||||
Ratings and Photos | Submit ratings and photos in place cards. | ||||||||||
Show Ratings and Photos Suggestions | Receive suggestions to submit a rating or photo. | ||||||||||
Follow up by Email | Receive a follow-up email about issues you report. |
