Specify default and startup Terminal window profiles on Mac
You can specify a startup profile and a default profile. When you open Terminal, the first window you see uses the startup profile. The default profile is used when you open additional windows. You can use the same profile for both the startup and default profiles.
Specify the startup profile
In the Terminal app on your Mac, choose Terminal > Settings, then click General.
Next to “On startup, open” select “New window with profile.”
Click the pop-up menu, then select the name of the profile you want to use as the startup profile.
The profile you selected now has the notation “Startup” under its name in the Profiles pane.
Specify the default profile
In the Terminal app on your Mac, choose Terminal > Settings, then click Profiles.
Select the profile that you want to use as the default profile.
Click Default at the bottom of the profiles list.
The profile you selected now has the notation “Default” under its name in the Profiles pane.
