Authorise your Mac to get purchases from the Book Store, Audiobook Store or Audible website
If you purchase books or audiobooks from the Book Store or Audiobook Store on other devices, you can see those purchases on your Mac by authorising your computer. You can authorise up to five computers and up to ten iOS devices and iPadOS devices to use with your Apple Account.
You can also authorise your Mac to play audiobooks downloaded from the Audible website (audible.com).
Authorise your Mac
Go to the Books app on your Mac.
Sign in to the same Apple Account you use on your other devices.
In the menu bar, choose Account > Authorisations > Authorise This Computer.
Your Mac is now authorised for the Book Store and Audiobook Store.
Deauthorise your Mac
Make sure you deauthorise your Mac before you sell it, give it away, send it in for service or make major hardware upgrades.
Go to the Books app on your Mac.
Choose Account > Authorisations > Deauthorise This Computer.

Authorise your Mac to play audiobooks purchased on audible.com
Audible is a third-party website that sells audiobooks and other spoken programmes. Before you can listen to an audiobook that you download from the Audible website, your Mac needs to be authorised on audible.com.
Go to the Books app on your Mac.
Import the Audible file you downloaded (or double-click the file in the Finder).
Click Yes in the dialogue that appears.
Sign in to audible.com if necessary, then follow the onscreen instructions.
You can authorise up to three computers to play purchases from the Audible website.
Deauthorise your Mac on audible.com
Go to the Books app on your Mac.
Choose Account > Authorisations > Deauthorise Audible Account, then follow the onscreen instructions.
You can also deauthorise your Mac on audible.com by signing in to your Audible account, then following the onscreen instructions.
