Enter full-width Latin characters with a Chinese input method on Mac
If you’re using a Simplified Chinese input source, you can enter Latin characters (such as English or French) as full-width. Full-width Latin characters are spaced to align with Chinese text. They’re useful when you use both Latin and Chinese characters and alignment is important, as in tables.
In an app on your Mac, do one of the following:
If you’re using a Chinese input source: Click the Input menu in the menu bar, then choose Show Emoji & Symbols.
If you already have half-width characters: Click the Input menu in the menu bar, then choose Convert Text to Full Width.
Tip: To enter Latin characters as half-width without switching to another input source, just type the characters (for uppercase Latin, press and hold the Shift key while you type), then choose the characters in the Candidate window.
