Buy movies and TV shows and watch them anywhere with the Apple TV app.

Buy a movie or TV show on your iPhone or iPod touch

  1. Open the Apple TV app.
  2. In the Search tab, Search for a movie or show that you'd like to buy and tap it.
    • Buy a movie: Tap the Buy button. If you don't see the Buy button, scroll down to How to Watch, then tap Buy.
    • Buy a TV show season or Season Pass: Scroll down to How to Watch, tap Buy Seasons, then tap the price next to a season or Season Pass.*
  3. Sign in with your Apple ID to complete your purchase.

To see all of the movies and TV shows that you purchased, go to the Library tab.

If the Buy button isn't in How to Watch, the content isn't available for purchase.

Buy a movie or TV show on your iPad

  1. Open the Apple TV app.
  2. In the sidebar, tap Search.
  3. Search for a movie or show that you'd like to buy and tap it.
    • Buy a movie: Tap the Buy button. If you don't see the Buy button, scroll down to How to Watch, then tap Buy.
    • Buy a TV show season or Season Pass: Scroll down to How to Watch, tap Buy Seasons, then tap the price next to a season or Season Pass.*
  4. Sign in with your Apple ID to complete your purchase.

To see all of the movies and TV shows that you purchased, go to Library in the sidebar.

If the Buy button isn't in How to Watch, the content isn't available for purchase.

Buy a movie or TV show on your Mac

  1. Open the Apple TV app.
  2. Search for a movie or show that you'd like to buy and click it.
    • Buy a movie: Click the Buy button. If you don't see the Buy button, scroll down to How to Watch, then click Buy.
    • Buy a TV show season or Season Pass: Scroll down to How to Watch, click Buy Seasons, then click the price next to a season or Season Pass.*
  3. Sign in with your Apple ID to complete your purchase.

To see all of the movies and TV shows that you purchased, go to the Library tab.

Buy a movie or TV show on your Apple TV, smart TV, or streaming device

  1. Open the Apple TV app.
  2. Select a movie or TV show that you want to buy.
    • Buy a movie: Select the Buy button. If you don't see the Buy button, scroll down to How to Watch, then select Buy.
    • Buy a TV show season or Season Pass: Scroll down to How to Watch, select Buy Seasons, then select a price next to a season or Season Pass.*
  3. Sign in with your Apple ID to complete your purchase.

To see all of the movies and TV shows that you purchased, go to the Library tab.

Buy a movie or TV show in iTunes for Windows

  1. Open iTunes.
  2. Choose Movies or TV Shows from the pop-up menu, then click Store in the navigation bar.
  3. Click a movie or TV show that you want to buy.
    • Buy a movie: Click the price.
    • Buy a TV show or Season Pass: Choose a season, then click the price. If a Season Pass is available, click Season Pass.*
  4. Sign in with your Apple ID to complete your purchase.

To see all of the movies and TV shows that you purchased, choose Movies or TV shows from the pop-up menu, then click Library in the navigation bar.

* You can buy entire seasons of a TV show or buy a Season Pass to get new episodes when they become available. A Season Pass for a TV show ends when all of the episodes in that season are uploaded by the provider. If you purchase one or more episodes of a show and then buy the entire season, the price of the entire season decreases by the amount that you already spent.
