
Add footnotes in Pages for iCloud
You can add footnotes to word-processing documents. Footnotes appear at the bottom of the page and are numbered continuously throughout the document with Arabic numerals.
Add a footnote
- Go to Pages for iCloud  , then sign in to your Apple Account (if necessary). , then sign in to your Apple Account (if necessary).
- In your word-processing document, click in the body text where you want to insert a footnote number. - Note: You can’t add a footnote to text in a shape, table, or text box. 
- Click  in the toolbar, then choose Footnote. in the toolbar, then choose Footnote.- The footnote number is inserted in the text, and the insertion point moves to the footnote field at the bottom of the page. - If you don’t see Footnote, you’re in a page layout document where you can’t add footnotes. 
- Enter the footnote text. 
You can also add objects (like images and shapes) to a footnote so they appear inline with the text.
Remove a footnote
- Go to Pages for iCloud  , then sign in to your Apple Account (if necessary). , then sign in to your Apple Account (if necessary).
- In your word-processing document, click in the body text immediately after the number for the footnote you want to delete, then press Delete. - The remaining footnotes adjust to reflect their new position in the sequence.
