If you have trouble burning discs on Mac
If you have difficulty creating your own DVDs or CDs, try these suggestions.
Verify that the external optical drive supports recording information onto discs. Check the System Report to see the Disc Burning Information to find out what kind of discs your external optical drive can burn.
If you are using an app to create a custom disc, check the app’s user guide for more information and instructions.
Check the available space on the disc to make sure all of your data can fit. To see the available space, select the disc, then choose File > Get Info. You may need to eliminate some items or change the size or quality of items to reduce file sizes.
Check the available space on your computer’s internal disk. Space on the internal disk is used during disc burning: 700 MB to burn a CD, 4 GB to burn a DVD, and 8 GB to burn a dual-layer DVD. To check the available space, open Disk Utility, select the disk (usually named Macintosh HD), then click Info.
