Organize notes in folders on iCloud.com
You can organize your notes by keeping them in folders. You can create your own folders, and Notes creates the following folders automatically:
All iCloud: Shows notes from all folders except the Recently Deleted folder.
Notes: Contains notes that you haven’t moved to folders you created or aren’t in the Recently Deleted folder.
Recently Deleted: Contains notes you deleted in the last 30 days.
Create a folder
In Notes on iCloud.com, click
at the bottom of the folder list.
Name the folder, then press Return or Enter.
Your folder appears alphabetically in the folder list.
Rename or move a folder
In Notes on iCloud.com, do any of the following:
Rename a folder: Click
at the bottom of the folder list. Click the name, type a new name, then press Return or Enter. Your folder appears alphabetically in the folder list.
Place a folder inside another folder: Drag and drop the folder on top of the other folder.
Move a subfolder to the top level of the folder list: Drag and drop the subfolder to the All iCloud folder.
Delete a folder
In Notes on iCloud.com, click the Action button
at the bottom of the folder list.
Click
next to the folder you want to delete, then click Delete Folder.
Notes in the folder you delete are moved to the Recently Deleted folder, where they remain for 30 days. During that time you can still view and recover them. After 30 days, notes are permanently removed from all your devices that signed in with the same Apple ID. See Delete and recover notes on iCloud.com.
You can’t delete the All iCloud, Notes, or Recently Deleted folders, but you can delete notes in them. If you delete all the notes in the Recently Deleted folder, it disappears until you delete more notes.
Move a note from one folder to another
In Notes on iCloud.com, drag the note to the folder you want to move it to. Notes are listed by last-modified date, with the most recent note at the top of the notes list.
You can’t move notes to the All iCloud folder.
