Move to Apple Ads from Apple Business
You can move your content to Apple Ads. In certain cases, you’re automatically directed to use Apple Ads to advertise on Maps if one of the following applies to you:
You’re currently using Apple Ads to advertise on the App Store
Your business has more than five locations
Your third-party partner has requested Apple Ads access on your behalf
You requested access and received a confirmation notification
Request access to Apple Ads
If you’d like to use Apple Ads to manage your ads on Maps campaigns, you can request access through the Contact Us link in Apple Business. Before requesting to move, there are a few things to know:
Moving your ad campaign management to Apple Ads is permanent. After you do so, your organization will no longer be able to manage ads on Maps in Apple Business. All of your billing history, payment information, tax details, performance metrics, and email settings automatically transfer from Apple Business. Your campaigns automatically transfer and continue to run in Apple Ads.
Your monthly budget from Apple Business is converted to a daily budget in Apple Ads by dividing it by the average number of days in a month (30.4). You can change your daily budget anytime. See Manage budgets in Ads on Apple Maps documentation.
If you request to be moved, you receive a confirmation message in Apple Business. After you accept and acknowledge the move, you can start using Apple Ads to create, manage, and run your campaigns on Maps with additional settings, such as choosing when your ad displays, adding specific keywords to match your ad with, selecting locations where your ad will serve, and more.
You can still use Apple Business to customize how your business appears on Maps, create place cards, and manage many of your organization’s settings.
What does Apple Ads include?
Apple Ads offers these options to help you manage and customize your Maps campaigns:
Schedule campaigns and ad groups to help align your efforts with seasonal promotions and marketing events.
Create groups of locations that you’d like to promote together.
Choose a bid strategy: Either Maximize Engagements, an automated bid strategy where an auto-bidder sets your bids, or Manage Bids, where you set your own bids for ad groups and keywords. With the Manage Bids strategy:
You can add and bid on keyword categories and keyword phrases to match your ad with search queries that you determine.
Decide between using cost-per-thousand-impressions (CPM) or cost-per-tap (CPT—which uses Maximize Engagements) as a bid pricing model.
