iCloud Shared Photo Library lets you share a photo library with friends or family, separate from your personal iCloud Photos library. You can join one shared photo library at a time with up to five other people.
To view a shared photo library on your Apple TV, you need to set up iCloud Shared Photo Library with the same iCloud Photos account on an iPhone using iOS 16.1 or later, iPad using iPadOS 16.1 or later, or Mac using macOS Ventura or later. Once your shared photo library is set up, you can switch between your personal and shared libraries on Apple TV.
You can’t create, edit or delete items in your shared photo library on Apple TV, but any changes you or others make in the Photos app on another device automatically appear on Apple TV.
For more information on setting up iCloud Shared Photo Library, see the iCloud User Guide.
Open the Photos app
on Apple TV, navigate to the Library category in the menu bar, then select the Library View button
in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Note: The Library View button doesn’t appear until you set up a shared photo library on your iPhone, iPad or Mac.
Select to view any of the following:
Both Libraries: See photos and videos combined from your personal and shared photo libraries.
Personal Library: See photos and videos from your personal library only.
Shared Library: See photos and videos from your shared photo library only.
The button in the upper-right corner of the screen changes to indicate the view you selected, and the photos and videos from that library appear below.
To browse library items, navigate up, down, left or right; to browse full-screen photos, select a photo, then navigate left or right.
