Share passwords using AirDrop with Safari on Mac
You can use AirDrop with Safari to securely share passwords with another Mac or an iOS device.
iCloud Keychain must be set up on your Mac and iOS device (iOS 6 or later).
Send a password
The person you’re sending to must be in your Contacts. To send to someone on a Mac, they must allow themselves to be discovered in AirDrop in the Finder. To send to someone on an iOS device, ask them to open Control Centre and turn on AirDrop.
In the Safari app on your Mac, choose Safari > Preferences, then click Passwords.
Enter your password (or if your Mac has Touch ID, you can use Touch ID).
Control-click the website with the password you want to share, then choose Share with AirDrop.
Click the person you want to send it to.
Click Done.
Receive a password
In the Safari app on your Mac, when you receive a password from someone else, you can choose whether to accept it. If you accept it, Passwords preferences opens in Safari.
You can control who can send you passwords using AirDrop.
