Change Users & Groups User preferences on Mac
Use the User preferences of Users & Groups System Preferences to change settings for your account on this Mac. If you’re an administrator, you can also change settings for others who use your Mac. Learn how to set up a new user.
To change these preferences, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Users & Groups . Select a user in the list on the left, then, if you selected yourself, click Password on the right. If other users are logged in to this Mac now, you can’t select them.

Choose a user picture that represents the user. You can change the picture that appears next to your user name or another user’s name in the login window on your Mac. You can choose a photo from your photo library, take a new photo using the camera on your Mac, choose a Memoji or emoji, use initials in a monogram and more. When you choose a picture or other image for your user login picture, the selected image is also displayed for your Apple ID picture and for your My Card in Contacts. Change a user’s login password and password hint. While changing the password, you can use the Password Assistant to help you select a secure password. Click the key next to the New Password field. See Tips for creating secure passwords.
View and edit a user’s Contacts information. This is only available for the user who is currently logged in.
Allow user to reset password using Apple ID
Allow a user to change their password for this Mac at login by entering their Apple ID and password.
To use this option, the user must have set up iCloud on this Mac. However, this option isn’t available if FileVault is turned on and set to allow the user to reset their password at startup using their Apple ID.
Allow user to administer this computer
Allow the user to be an administrator for this Mac.
