Choose who you can communicate with at certain times with Screen Time on Mac
You can set limits for incoming and outgoing communications using Phone, FaceTime, and Messages from certain contacts in iCloud, either at all times or during certain periods, like when your device use is paused. See Set schedules and time allowances with Screen Time.
Before you can set up Allowed Contacts, you need to turn on Screen Time. See Set up Screen Time for yourself.
Note: To use all the latest Screen Time features, you need iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, or visionOS 27 or later on all your Apple devices. If you’re setting up these features within a Family Sharing group, all devices in your family must be upgraded to iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, or visionOS 27 or later. Go to the System Settings app
on your Mac.
Click Screen Time
in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
To allow or block communication during Screen Time hours, click During Screen Time, then do any of the following:
Communicate with Contacts Only: Click Contacts Only, then click Done.
Communicate with Contact and group Messages with at least one other contact: Click Contacts & Groups with at Least One Contact, then click Done.
Communicate with Contacts and all other numbers: Click Everyone, then click Done.
To allow or block communication after your devices have been paused for Screen Time, click When Device Paused or Unavailable, then do any of the following:
Communicate with contacts you selected when you set up Always Allow: Click Always Allowed, then click Done.
Communicate with contacts and all other numbers: Click Everyone, then click Done.
