Play a sound on an AirTag or other item in Find My on Mac
In the Find My app on your Mac, you can play a sound on a nearby AirTag or third-party item to help you find it.
To play a sound on a missing item, you must add the item to Find My before it’s lost. See the Apple Support article How to add an AirTag to Find My.
Play a sound on an item
Go to the Find My app
on your Mac.
Click Items, select the item you want to play a sound on, then click Play.
Note: If you can’t play a sound on an item, you won’t see the Play button.
Stop playing a sound on an item
When you play a sound on an item, the sound stops playing automatically after a short time, but you can stop it earlier.
Go to the Find My app
Click Items, select the item that’s playing the sound, then click Stop.

If your AirTag or other item is lost or stolen, you can protect it by marking it as lost.
