Manage existing users in Apple School Manager
You can manage existing users in Apple School Manager, such as editing their account information to change the user’s name. Depending on your role, you can do such things as reset a user’s Managed Apple ID password and send them a new temporary password so they can sign in. You can also deactivate, reactivate or delete users.
Deactivate user accounts
You can deactivate user accounts so that the selected users are unable to use their Managed Apple ID to sign in. If a manually created user account is in a deactivated state for more than 30 days, it will be automatically deleted.
User accounts created by linking to a Student Information System (SIS) or uploaded using SFTP are deleted 120 days after they are deactivated.
Reactivate user accounts
You can reactivate user accounts so that selected users are able to use their Managed Apple ID again.
Delete user accounts
You can delete manually created user accounts; however, active accounts must first be deactivated. If a user never signed in using their Managed Apple ID, then the account is inactive and can be deleted.
To view which accounts can be deactivated, reactivated or deleted, see User status.
