In the Safari app on your Mac, enter a word or phrase in the Smart Search field.
As you type, Safari Suggestions appear.
Choose a suggestion, or press Return to search using your selected search engine.
When you click a suggestion, Safari takes you to the webpage or provides you with an interactive preview containing handy information.
Tip: If you set up iCloud for Safari on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, Safari shows suggestions from your browsing history, bookmarks, and open webpages on all your Apple devices.
To learn more, choose Apple menu > System Settings, click Siri & Spotlight in the sidebar, click Spotlight Privacy on the right, then click About Search & Privacy. (You may need to scroll down.)
