Search for channels, topics, or stories in News on Mac

1. Go to the News app on your Mac.

2. Click Search at the top of the sidebar, then enter what you’re looking for in the search field at the top of the window.

   If you don’t see the sidebar, choose View > Show Sidebar.

   You can enter the name of a channel, a topic (such as fashion or politics), or an event (such as a meteor shower). Stories, channels, and topics that match your search term are listed; you may need to scroll down to show all of the search results.

3. Do any of the following in the search results:

   • Read a story: Click a story.

   • See a channel or topic: Click a channel or topic to show the stories in its feed.

   • Follow a channel or topic: Click . The button changes to a to indicate you now follow the channel or topic.

   • Unfollow a channel or topic: Click . The button changes to to indicate you don’t follow the channel or topic.

   • See additional actions you can take: Control-click a search result, then choose an action from the shortcut menu, such as Copy Link or Block Channel.

4. To clear the search results, click in the search field.

When you click an item in the search results, News adds your search term or the item to the Recent Searches list so you can use it again.

• See your recent searches: Click the search field at the top of the sidebar.

• See the latest results of a search: Click a search in the list.

• Clear your recent searches: Click Clear at the top of the list.
