
Change settings in AirPort Utility on Mac
You can change settings in AirPort Utility for updating the app and monitoring base stations.
In the AirPort Utility app ![]() on your Mac, choose AirPort Utility > Settings.

| Check for updates when opening AirPort Utility | Select the checkbox to automatically check for software and firmware updates each time you open AirPort Utility. | 
| Check for updates automatically | Select the checkbox to automatically check for software and firmware updates in the background. Choose a time interval from the pop-up menu, such as Weekly. | 
| Monitor AirPort base stations for problems | Select the checkbox to have AirPort Utility automatically open when a base station’s status light blinks amber, so you can investigate problems. | 
| Only monitor AirPort base stations that I have configured | If you chose to monitor base stations for problems, select this checkbox to only monitor base stations set up from the computer you’re using. | 
| Monitor AirPort base stations over the internet using Bonjour | If you chose to monitor base stations for problems, monitor your wireless devices remotely. |
