Manage content tokens in Apple School Manager
Third-party mobile device management (MDM) solutions assign content to devices or users by communicating with Apple School Manager. For your MDM solution to link and communicate, a token is required. Contact your MDM vendor for specific information about installing the token in your MDM solution. The following events invalidate the token:
Annual expiration: Tokens expire annually, so make note of your token’s renewal date upon linking. To avoid interruption of service, remember to download an updated token and upload it to your organization’s MDM solution before your current token expires.
Password changes: If the account that downloaded the token and linked the MDM solution to Apple School Manager has their password changed, the token is invalidated.
Download a content token
In Apple School Manager , sign in with a user that has the role of Administrator, Site Manager, or Content Manager.
Tap your name at the bottom of the sidebar, tap Preferences , then tap Payments & Billing .
Under Content Tokens, tap the token name where the MDM server is assigned.
Consult your MDM vendor’s documentation to upload the content token.
