How do I get firmware updates for Mac?
The term firmware refers to computer chips that have data or programs recorded on them. When your computer is manufactured, its firmware is specifically programmed to tell your computer how to perform tasks. However, the type of firmware installed in your computer can be updated later if your computer requires a change.
Firmware updates are included in macOS updates. To check for updates on your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, click General in the sidebar (you may need to scroll down), then click Software Update.
Note: Firmware shouldn’t be confused with malware, which can be harmful to your computer.
Thanks for your feedback.
