How do I get my Apple Watch fixed?
If these steps don’t fix the issue, you can arrange to send your Apple Watch to an Apple Repair Centre. We’ll give you shipping instructions. You can also have your Apple Authorised Service Provider or Apple Store technician send it in for you.
Make sure that you unpair your Apple Watch from your iPhone before you get service. After we receive your Apple Watch, we’ll repair or replace it as soon as possible. If you have a gold Apple Watch Edition, contact Apple or make an appointment at an Apple Store.
How long will it take?
Depending on the type of service, your repair or replacement might take up to five business days.
After we receive your Apple Watch, you can check the status of your service request.
Service is considered out of warranty and comes with a fee when:
- Your Apple Watch is beyond the eligible warranty term.
- Your Apple Watch has an issue that’s not covered under warranty or consumer law, such as accidental damage.
- Your Apple Watch service isn’t covered by an AppleCare plan.
We might be able to fix or replace your Apple Watch for an out-of-warranty fee. In some cases, you might need to pay the full replacement value fee, such as for catastrophic damage or unauthorised modifications.
Your replacement Apple Watch will have factory settings and will be new or equivalent to new in performance and reliability.
If your battery has a manufacturing issue that's covered by the Apple Limited Warranty, AppleCare+ or consumer law, we'll service your Apple Watch at no additional cost.
Our warranty doesn’t cover batteries that wear down from normal use. We offer out-of-warranty battery service for a fee.
If your Apple Watch battery holds less than 80 per cent of its original battery capacity and it’s covered by AppleCare+, you will get Apple Watch battery service for no additional charge.
We might need to test your product to find the cause of your battery issue.
Accidental damage isn’t covered by Apple Warranty. The out-of-warranty cost to replace an Apple Watch with an accidentally damaged screen depends on your Apple Watch model. If your screen cracks due to a manufacturing issue, it’s covered by the Apple warranty and consumer law.
If you have AppleCare+, it includes accidental damage protection. Coverage does not include cosmetic damage, such as scratches. Each incident has a service fee. AppleCare+ incidents can be used for screen damage.
If you don’t have AppleCare+, you’ll pay an out-of-warranty fee. Ask your service provider for an estimate.
Apple-branded accessories are covered by our warranty and consumer law. The accessories that come in the box with your product are also covered by AppleCare+. Before you bring in an Apple Watch Edition Magnetic Charging Case, take out and keep all the loose parts in the case. Contact Apple or an Apple Authorised Service Provider for service details.
We can help with returns or exchanges of third-party accessories that you bought from Apple. For service or support, contact the accessory manufacturer.
International travel with your Apple Watch
If your Apple Watch has an electronic SIM card, it won’t support cross-border roaming with your existing plan. To optimise the performance of your Apple Watch during an international trip, you can turn off the LTE features on your device.

Get ready for Apple Watch service
- Charge your Apple Watch.
- Unpair your Apple Watch from your iPhone.
- Remove your band and keep it along with your charging cable and other accessories. You’ll need these after your Apple Watch service.
- Make sure you know your Apple ID and password.

Express Replacement Service is a benefit of your AppleCare+ plan.
Your product warranty
The Apple Limited Warranty covers your Apple Watch and Apple-branded accessories against manufacturing defects from the date you bought your product. The warranty period varies by model. The Apple Limited Warranty is in addition to rights provided by consumer law.
Our warranty doesn't cover damage caused by accidents or unauthorised modifications. See the warranty for complete details. You can check your coverage status online and update your proof-of-purchase information if there's an error in our records. If our warranty, your AppleCare plan, or consumer law don't cover your repair, you'll pay out-of-warranty fees.
Your country or region may have consumer-protection laws for some repair issues.
When you receive your Apple Watch, set it up the same way you’d set up a new Apple Watch.
We guarantee our service, including replacement parts, for 90 days or the remaining term of your Apple warranty or AppleCare plan coverage, whichever is longer. We offer this when you get service from us or from an Apple Authorised Service Provider. This is in addition to rights provided by consumer law.
