INTERCEPT
The INTERCEPT function returns the y-intercept of the best-fit line for the collection using linear regression analysis.
INTERCEPT(y-values, x-numbers)
y-values: The collection containing the y (dependent) values. y-values must contain number values, date/time values or duration values. All values must be of the same value type.
x-numbers: The collection containing the x (independent) values. x-numbers must contain number values.
Notes
The two collections must be of the same size.
To find the slope of the best-fit line, use the SLOPE function.

Suppose that you kept a record of the periodic changes in the price you paid for each delivery of heating oil and also the average temperature setting of your thermostat during the period covered by the specified price. Given the following table: |
