Set colour printing options in ColorSync Utility on Mac

Colour pop-up menu

Choose any of the following:

• Prematch to printer profile: Controls the colour management of the printed output.

• Hand off to printer: Lets the printer control the colour management of the printed output.

• Print as colour target: Prints the image or document without any colour management. This option is available only if the image or document uses the same colour space as the printer; for example, you’re printing an RGB image on an RGB printer.

Intent pop-up menu

If you chose “Prematch to printer profile,” click the Intent pop-up menu, then choose one of the following:

• Perceptual: Applies realistic-looking colours, useful for photographs.

• Relative Colorimetric: Maintains colour accuracy when specific colours are required for certain images, such as logos.

• Saturation: Maintains the vividness of colours, useful for graphics such as pie charts and bar graphs.

• Absolute Colorimetric: Adjusts the colours to account for the differences in white points.
