Restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod to factory settings using a computer
Erase your iPhone, iPad, or iPod and install the latest iOS, iPadOS, or iPod software using a computer. This factory restore removes all information and settings from your device.
If your device works, erase and restore it without a computer.
Prepare your device
Update your Mac or PC. If you're using iTunes, make sure that you have the latest version.
Go to Settings.
Tap [Your Name].
Tap Find My.
Tap Find My [device].
Turn Find My [device] off.
Enter your Apple Account password.
Tap the Done button
on your keyboard.
Restore your device to factory settings
Connect your device to your computer.
If you see the "Allow accessory to connect?" alert on your computer, click Allow.
Open the Finder on Mac (check which macOS you're using) or the Apple Devices app on a PC.
Select your device when it appears on your computer.
Follow the onscreen steps if a message asks for your device passcode or to "Trust This Computer".
Click Restore [device] on your computer.1 Sign out of Find My first if you're signed in.
Click Restore to confirm. Your computer erases your device and installs the latest iOS, iPadOS or iPod software.
Once the restore process finishes, the Hello screen appears on your device.
