Send your iPad to Apple for a service

When you contact Apple for a service, you’ll receive a kit that has everything you need to send your iPad to Apple.

Before you send in your iPad for a service

  1. Back up your iPad:

    1. Back up with iCloud

    2. Back up with your Mac

    3. Back up with your PC

  2. Erase your iPad to protect your personal information and remove it from your Apple Account: In Settings, tap General > Transfer or Reset iPad, then tap Erase All Content and Settings. You will need to enter your Apple Account password to confirm.

  3. If you have a Wi-Fi + Cellular iPad model:

    1. If your iPad uses a physical SIM, remove it.

    2. If your iPad uses an eSIM, contact your wireless provider to get a new eSIM or suspend service if needed.

Send your iPad to Apple

  1. From the email that you received when you requested service, print the shipping label from the "Repair status" link.

  2. Take your postage label and your unpacked iPad to Australia Post. Find the nearest Australia Post Office

Don’t include any accessories — such as a case, power adapter or cables. If you do, they won’t be returned.

Keep the receipt that Australia Post provides to confirm that you’ve sent your iPad for a service.

Apple is not responsible for any damage sustained during transit.
