If you see Invalid SIM or No SIM on your iPhone or iPad
If you receive an alert that says Invalid SIM or No SIM Card installed, follow these steps.
Make sure that you have an active plan with your wireless service provider.
If your iPhone is locked to a service provider, it can only be used with that service provider. To check if your iPhone is unlocked, go to Settings > General > About. If your iPhone is unlocked, "No SIM restrictions" will appear next to Service Provider Lock (or Carrier Lock). Find out how to unlock iPhone for use with a different service provider.
Check for a service provider settings update. Go to Settings > General > About. If an update is available, you'll see a prompt to select OK or Update.
If your device has an eSIM, contact your service provider.
If your device has a physical SIM card, remove your iPhone SIM card or iPad SIM card from the SIM card tray and then put the SIM card back. Make sure that the SIM tray closes completely and isn't loose. If you use a SIM tray from a different model of iPhone or iPad, or from another phone manufacturer, it may not fit correctly.
If your device has a physical SIM card and you’ve completed the previous step, try using another SIM card. If you don't have one, go to your service provider's retail store and ask them to test with another SIM card. You may need to replace your SIM card.
If you still see an alert about your SIM card, you may need a service. Get service.
