Update service provider settings manually on your iPhone or iPad
Carrier settings updates let your mobile service provider updated carrier network and settings to improve cellular network connectivity and performance. Service provider settings updates can also add support for new features, such as 5G or Wi-Fi Calling.
When a mobile provider settings update is available, you'll see a prompt to install it. Installation will takes less than 1 minute, and you can keep using your device. If your mobile service provider releases a mandatory update, you'll see an OK button instead of an Update button to let you know that the system downloaded and installed the update.
If you dismiss the installation notification, you can update service provider settings manually:
Make sure that you connect your device to Wi-Fi or a cellular network.
Open the Settings app.
Tap General.
Tap About.
Follow the onscreen instructions to install your service provider update.
If you set up a new eSIM or insert a new SIM card into your iPhone or iPad, you may need to download the service provider settings for your new service provider.
To see the version of carrier settings installed on your device:
Open the Settings app.
Tap General.
Tap About. The version number appears next to Service Provider.
Tap the version number to see additional mobile service provider information.
To verify that you have the latest service provider settings installed, contact your service provider.
