Interact with text in a picture in Safari on Mac

Go to the Safari app on your Mac.

Go to a photo or image that shows text.

The text can be words, a phone number, an email address, a website address, or a street address.

Move the pointer over the text, then drag to select it.

Control-click the selected text.

Do one of the following:

• Copy: Choose Copy. You can then paste the text into another document or app.

• Get a definition: Choose Look Up.

• Translate: Choose Translate [text], then choose a language.

  Note: Translation isn’t available in all languages and may not be available in some countries or regions.

• Search the web: Choose Search with [web search engine].

• Share with others: Choose Share, then choose how you want to share the text.

• Call or send a message: Choose to call the phone number, start a FaceTime video or audio call, or send a message to the number.

  You can also click that appears when you move the pointer over the phone number.

• Send email: Choose to write email, add the email address to Contacts, or start a FaceTime video or audio call.

  You can also click that appears when you move the pointer over the email address.

• Go to the website: Open the link in your browser or use Quick Look to view the website information.

  You can also click that appears when you move the pointer over the website address.

• See a map: Open the Maps app and show the street address.

  You can also click that appears when you move the pointer over the street address.
