Add an email attachment in Mail on iCloud.com
You can attach one or more files to an email.
Tip: You can also share files with other iCloud users through iCloud Drive. See Share files and folders in iCloud Drive.
Add an attachment
Go to icloud.com/mail, then sign in to your Apple Account (if necessary).
While writing an email, tap in the top-right corner of the email window.
Choose to attach your file from iCloud Drive, iCloud Photos, or your device.
If you choose your device, you can choose Photo Library, Take Photo or Video, or Choose Files.
Select the files you want to attach, then tap Attach, Add, or Open; or take a photo or video, then tap Use Photo or Use Video.
If your attachments are too large to send in an email, you’re asked if you want to deliver the attachments using Mail Drop or an iCloud Link (if you’re attaching files from iCloud Photos; not available in all countries or regions).
Note: If you send an email with large attachments, it might be returned by the recipient’s email service if your email exceeds the size limit set by that service.
Remove an attachment
Go to icloud.com/mail, then sign in to your Apple Account (if necessary).
While writing an email, tap Edit next to the attachments section in the email window.
Tap next to the attachment.
You can only remove an attachment before you send the email.
You can’t remove files already sent with Mail Drop. They expire after 30 days.
Turn on Mail Drop for large attachments
You can use Mail Drop to upload large attachments to iCloud, where they’re encrypted. Recipients see an attachment or a Mail Drop link in the email, and they can download the files for up to 30 days after they’re sent. See the Apple Support article Mail Drop limits.
Go to icloud.com/mail, then sign in to your Apple Account (if necessary).
Tap at the top of the Mailboxes list, then choose Settings.
Tap Composing, then select “Use Mail Drop when sending large attachments.”
