Identify a song using Shazam on the web
The Shazam extension for Chromium web browsers scans and identifies music playing on a webpage. You can also identify music playing around you using any web browser by going to the shazam.com website.
Identify songs in your web browser using the Chrome extension
If you’re using a Chromium web browser on your Mac or PC, install the Shazam extension to identify songs directly in a browser tab.
In a Chromium web browser on your Mac or PC, go to the Shazam extension page on the Google Chrome Web Store.
Click Add to [your browser], then click “Add extension” in the dialog that appears.
The extension is added to your browser.
In the browser toolbar, click the Extensions button, then click the pin icon next to Shazam.
The Shazam icon is added to the browser toolbar.
In a browser tab that’s playing music, click in the toolbar to identify the song.
Optionally, do any of the following:
See your previously identified songs: Click in the toolbar, click to show your songs, then scroll through the list. Songs identified using the Shazam app or on shazam.com do not appear in the list.
Listen to the song on shazam.com: Click the song in the Shazam result.
Listen to the song in Apple Music on the web: Click the Open in Apple Music button.
If you’re not already signed in to Apple Music, click the Connect Apple Music button, sign in to your Apple Account, then follow any onscreen instructions to give Shazam access to Apple Music.
Note: To listen to full songs and watch full videos you must be an Apple Music subscriber. See the Apple Support article Join Apple Music.
