About course posts in iTunes U for web
iTunes U displays posts, assignments, and discussions for the current course in the course Posts panes.
When creating a new post or assignment for a private course, keep in mind that iTunes U immediately sends the post or assignment as a push notification to your students. For a public course, instead of sending a push notification immediately, iTunes U sends a push notification for the first new post or assignment within each five minute period. Push notifications trigger a course refresh so the new post is immediately visible to your students.
When you make changes to your course, iTunes U immediately updates the course and students see the updates the next time they open the course.
To access the Posts panes, click a Posts cell in the dashboard (or click a course name in the dashboard, then click Posts ). Use posts to add your voice and context to a course. For example, a post can contain instructions, explanations, summaries, and context around a specific topic and associated assignment. Discussions allow students to communicate directly with you and other participants in the course. For example, a student might ask questions about the course or specific posts and assignments.
