If you see an error in Finder or iTunes on your computer

When you use iTunes on your Mac or PC or the Finder on macOS Catalina to sync files between your devices, you might see an error code or alert message. You can fix most errors with these steps.

Check the message for steps

Update your computer or iTunes

Install updates for your Mac. If you're using macOS Mojave or earlier or a Windows PC, get the latest version of iTunes for your computer or get updates from Microsoft

 

Check your settings and your security software

You might need to change your settings or update your security software (such as antivirus, firewall, or malware blocker software) if it’s causing an issue.

 

Restart

Turn off your computer, then turn it on again. If you get the message when you connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, restart both your device and your computer.
