Browse the web, customize settings for each website, shop securely, read webpages, and stop interruptions.
Customize settings for each website
Choose how you browse on a website-by-website basis. For example, if a website has small text and images, you can zoom in to make them larger. To customize websites, choose Safari > Preferences, then click Websites.
Shop securely with a touch
Shop securely with Apple Pay on your Mac in Safari. When you’re ready to check out, look for Apple Pay, then complete your purchase using Touch ID on your Mac, Face ID on iPhone X (or Touch ID on other models), or Apple Watch.
Read webpages clutter-free—every time
Get rid of the ads and links on webpages so you can focus on the words and pictures. To read all your webpages this way, Control-click in the search field, then select “Use Reader Automatically on [website].”
Stop unexpected interruptions while browsing
Get some peace and quiet while browsing by shutting off the audio and video that seem to come out of nowhere. Control-click in the search field, then click Settings for This Website. Hold the pointer to the right of Auto-Play, then click the pop-up menu and choose Never Auto-Play.
