What’s new in Messages on Mac?
The Messages app in macOS Sonoma offers new features including expressive stickers, swipe to reply, transcribed audio messages, and more.
With macOS Sonoma 14.2 or later, if you receive messages when you’re away from your Mac, you can jump to the first unread message in the conversation. See Catch up on messages you missed.
Express yourself with stickers that match your personality and mood, including ones you create from your photos on your iPhone or iPad. See Send stickers.
Combine filters to quickly narrow your search. For example, find a particular search term in a certain conversation. See Search for a conversation.
Reply even more quickly—use your trackpad or a Magic Mouse and swipe with two fingers. See Send an inline reply to a message.
Read audio message transcripts as soon as they’re sent, and listen to them later. See Send an audio message.
Request a friend’s location in Messages, then view it directly within your conversation. See Request or view someone’s location.
