Turn Power Nap on or off
If your Mac supports it, Power Nap is on by default when your Mac is plugged into a power adapter. You can easily change Power Nap settings.
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Energy Saver.
Do either of the following:
Specify Battery settings: Click Battery, then select or deselect “Enable Power Nap while on battery power.”
Specify Power Adapter settings: Click Power Adapter, then select “Enable Power Nap while plugged into a power adapter.”
Important: If you have a compatible Mac and you don’t see the Power Nap settings, you may need to perform a firmware update. Firmware updates are provided through App Store. To check for updates, open App Store and click the Updates button. For more information, see Update macOS and apps.
