Share your location in Find My on Mac
In the Find My app on your Mac, share your location with friends, family members, and other contacts.
Important: The device associated with your location has to be an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Apple Watch where you’re signed in to the same Apple Account. If you only have a Mac, you can’t share your location.
Allow your location to be shared
Before you can share your location with someone, you need to turn on Share My Location in Find My.
Go to the Find My app
on your Mac.
Click Me, then turn on Share My Location (if it’s not already on) in the My Location section.
Tip: Below My Location, you can see your current location and the device you’re sharing your location from.
Share your location with a contact
Go to the Find My app
Click People, then click
in the top-right corner of the list.
Do one of the following:
Type a name, an email address, or a phone number in the With field.
Click
to the right of the With field to see all your contacts. Click a contact in the list, then click the Share My Location pop-up menu.
Click
, then choose how long you want to share your location.
Tip: Set a duration or an end time for your location sharing by choosing Custom and adjusting the fields.
After you share your location, you can also ask to see your contact’s location.
Share your location with your Family Sharing group

Allow location sharing requests
Go to the Find My app
Click Me, then turn on Allow Friend Requests in the Notifications section.
Respond to a location sharing request
When someone asks to see your location, you can accept the request in the Find My app.
Go to the Find My app
Click People.
Click Share below the name of the contact who sent the request and choose how long you want to share your location.
If you don’t want to share your location, click Cancel.
You can stop sharing your location at any time.
