Revoke app assignments in Apple Configurator for Mac
You can revoke apps assigned by your Managed Apple Account or personal Apple Account account in Apple Configurator.
In Apple School Manager, this is a user with the role of Administrator, Site Manager, Content Manager, or any Instructor or Manager role with permissions to get apps and books. In Apple Business, this is a user whose role has permissions to get licenses for apps and books and assign licenses for apps and books.
Note: You need to have a license for each device that the app is assigned to.
In Apple Configurator
, choose Account > Sign In, and sign in with one of the following:A Managed Apple Account from Apple School Manager or Apple Business that has permissions to get apps and books
The personal Apple Account that was used to get apps or books
Enter your six-digit verification code.
Choose Window > Volume Purchasing Assignments.
Click the disclosure triangle next to an app to view the serial number of the devices the app is assigned to.
Select a device in the list, click the Remove button in the toolbar, then click Revoke.
The app is now available to be assigned to another device.
