Mac Studio (M5 Max or M5 Ultra) Housing

Before You Begin

Warning

Read Mac Electrical Safety and follow workspace handling guidelines before you begin.

Tools

• Torx T7 screwdriver

Refer to a full list of tools required for all repairs.

Note: You can remove the logic board with antenna 1, fan, battery, and left SSD module installed.

Removal

Note: If you’ve already completed the removal steps, skip to reassembly.

1. Stand the housing on its back as shown.

   

2. Use the T7 screwdriver to remove two T7 standoff screws (923-12503) from the housing.

   

Note: A replacement housing includes the power button (1) and status indicator light (2). The power button is also available as a replacement part.

Reassembly

1. Use the T7 screwdriver to install two T7 standoff screws (923-12503) into the housing.

   

Reinstall the following parts to complete reassembly:

• Logic board

• Power cord port

• Combination input/output board

• Back Thunderbolt ports

• Ethernet board

• Speaker

• SDXC card slot board

• Front USB-C ports

• Right SSD module (if present)

• Antenna 3

• Antenna 2

• Internal frame

• Power supply

• Bottom cover
