Create a new document in Pixelmator Pro on Mac
If you want to start your project with a blank canvas, you can create a new, empty document. You can also begin working by opening a preset, template, or mockup.
Create a new blank document in Pixelmator Pro
In Pixelmator Pro on Mac, choose File > New.
In the right sidebar, do either of the following:
Set up a custom document: Set your preferences for document orientation, size, resolution, and color depth.
Choose a document preset: Click the Preset pop-up menu, choose from a variety of common paper sizes, digital documents, tv formats, and more.
Click Create.
Create a new document from a template
You can use a built-in template to jump-start your creative process. Choose document options ranging from blank layouts to print and digital motifs for posters, advertisements, social media posts, and more.
In Pixelmator Pro on Mac, choose File > New.
In the browser sidebar, select a template category, or choose All Templates.
In the main pane, select a template, then click Create.
To learn more about editing templates, see Work with templates.
Create a new document from a mockup
You can use mockups—a special type of template—in Pixelmator Pro to see your designs as they’ll appear on materials ranging from apparel to product packaging, outdoor marketing, and digital displays.
Mockups are customizable. You can change colors and compositional elements to make them your own.
In Pixelmator Pro on Mac, choose File > New.
In the browser sidebar, click the disclosure arrow next to Mockups, then select a category (Apparel, Devices, and so on).
In the main pane, select a mockup, then click Create.
