Transfer licences to another organisational unit in Apple Business
Within your organisation, you can move licences from one organisational unit to another. You can also transfer licences, either to consolidate purchases from multiple accounts or to decentralise and distribute licences to match your organisation’s structure. (For example, an organisational unit in Apple Business might represent a building, a department or a group.)
To transfer licences in Apps and Books, search for and then select an app in your library. In the details section, you can view the number of available licences at each organisational unit you have access to. Select Transfer, then, in the dialog box, enter both the number of licences (up to 24,999 at a time) and the organisational unit where you want to move them. The transfer, which may take a few minutes, updates the number of licences at the new organisational unit. The new number of licences for the content token appears in your device management service. Check your external device management service documentation for the expected behaviour.
Note: Transfers won’t disrupt licence assignments. Only unassigned licences can be transferred.
