
Manage playgrounds in Swift Playground on Mac
In the Swift Playground welcome window, you can view the playgrounds you’ve downloaded or created. You can add, duplicate, rename, share, or delete playground books or app playgrounds. You can also reset playground books.

View playgrounds you’ve downloaded or created
In the Swift Playground app on your Mac, view your recent playgrounds by doing one of the following:
If you’re in the More Playgrounds window, click
.
If you’re working in a playground, choose Window > Welcome to Swift Playground.
Your playgrounds appear on the right in the Swift Playground welcome window.
Open a playground
In the Swift Playground app
on your Mac, go to the welcome window (choose Window > Welcome to Swift Playground or click
at the top left of the More Playgrounds window).
Double-click the playground.
If you open a playground from someplace other than the welcome window (such as iCloud Drive), any changes you make to it are saved with the playground in the location you opened it from.
Add or delete a playground
In the Swift Playground app on your Mac, go to the welcome window (choose Window > Welcome to Swift Playground or click
at the top left of the More Playgrounds window), then do any of the following:
Add a playground: Click Learn to Code to view the More Playgrounds window, then click Get next to the playground app you want to add.
Delete a playground: Control-click the playground on the right, then choose Move to Trash.
Duplicate or rename a playground
In the Swift Playground app on your Mac, go to the welcome window (choose Window > Welcome to Swift Playground or click
at the top left of the More Playgrounds window), Control-click one of your playgrounds on the right, choose Show in Finder, then do any of the following:
Duplicate a playground: Control-click the playground, then choose Duplicate.
Rename a playground: Control-click the playground, choose Rename, then enter a new name.
Search for or view additional playgrounds
In the Swift Playground app on your Mac, go to the welcome window (choose Window > Welcome to Swift Playground or click
at the top left of the More Playgrounds window), Control-click one of your playgrounds on the right, choose Show in Finder, then enter part or all of the name of the playground in the search field at the top right.
Only playgrounds whose names contain your search text appear.
Note: After you update to a new version of Swift Playground, it may try to update your existing playground books to work with the new version. If you have a playground book that worked in an older version of Swift Playground but doesn’t work in the new version, try closing the playground window, closing Swift Playground, and then reopening them. If that doesn’t work, click Learn to Code in the welcome window, then click Get to download a new copy of the playground.
