About Actions in Apple Business
Your Actions appear on place cards by adding a direct link to your brand’s website or preferred platform. These Actions can be created in the Apple Business portal and also using the Apple Business API and allow direct customer experiences within your brand’s website. Maps users can then access them at the top of your place card by tapping Primary Action or More
. These buttons might have names such as “Order” or “Tickets.”
Requirements
Before you create any Actions, review the following requirements:
For customers to access Actions from your place card on iPhone and iPad, their devices require iOS 17.4 or iPadOS 17.4, or later.
The unique URL of an Action can’t appear in more than one action type.
The unique URL of an Action can’t be an exact match of a third-party partner Action URL.
For additional guidelines, see Action URL standards and guidelines.
Organizations require approval from Apple before an Action can appear for customers. This process can take up to three business days.
Category Actions
Each category has several Action types and you can create Actions for one or more of them. For example, if your main category is restaurant, you may want to add an Action to some of the following action types:
Menu
Reserve
Waitlist
Pickup
Delivery
There may also be category action types that you don’t want to contain an Action.
About the Primary Action
The Primary Action appears as a button to the right of the brand website button and under More
(along with any additional actions). Before you add any Actions, you can specify any current Action as the Primary Action. However, when you create your very first Action, it automatically becomes your new Primary Action.
Manage Actions
To manage Actions, see Manage Actions.
