Change preferences in News on Mac
You can set preferences in Apple News to change options for the stories that are shown.
In the News app on your Mac, choose News > Preferences.
Note: Apple News isn’t available in all countries or regions. See the Apple Support article Availability of Apple Media Services.
Option | Description |
---|---|
Restrict stories in Today | Show only stories from channels you follow in the Today and other feeds. This option limits the variety of stories that appear in feeds; you won’t see Top Stories and Trending Stories. |
Restrict stories with explicit content | Don’t show any stories that are marked as explicit. |
By default, Siri suggests channels, topics, and stories in News, and learns from how you use News to make suggestions across other apps. To stop these suggestions, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Siri, click Siri Suggestions & Privacy, click News, then deselect the checkboxes: Show Siri Suggestions in App (to stop Siri suggestions in News), Learn from this App (to stop Siri from using what it learns in News to make suggestions across apps), or both.
