Symptoms
When attempting to watch a video purchased or rented from the iTunes Store using your Apple TV (1st generation), you may see only a white screen on your TV.
Resolution
Update to the latest Apple TV (1st generation) software. If you've already installed the latest software, try the following steps.
- With your television still on, restart the Apple TV (1st generation) by disconnecting the power cable from the back of it.
- Wait thirty seconds, then reconnect the power cable to the Apple TV (1st generation).
Note: If you have any components connected to your Apple TV (1st generation) via HDMI, such as an audio receiver and or a TV, make sure that they are turned on while restarting the Apple TV (1st generation).
