iMac (Late 2013): Recommended software and firmware updates

OS X software and firmware updates are available for iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2013) and iMac (27-inch, Late 2013) computers.

How can I install the most recent version of software and firmware updates?

From the Apple () menu, choose Software Update. Install any updates related to OS X.

 

How can I tell if I have the most current OS X software?

From the Apple () menu, choose Software Update. If there are no available OS X updates then you have the most current software for your version of OS X.

 

How can I tell if I have the most current firmware?

From the Apple () menu, choose About This Mac and click More Info. Then, click System Report. You are up to date if you see the following in the "Boot ROM Version" field:

  • "IM141.0118.B00" on the iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2013)
  • "IM142.0118.B00" or "IM143.0118.B00" on the iMac (27-inch, Late 2013)


If you do not see these version numbers, you should run Software Update and follow the on screen instructions until there are no more available updates listed for your computer.
