iTunes Store: Download options when purchasing TV seasons, Season Passes, Multi-Passes, movie bundles, music box sets, or individual movies or TV episodes

Learn about the download options you have when you purchase a TV season, Season Pass, Multi-Pass, movie bundle, music box set, or an individual movie or TV episode using iTunes 11 or iOS 6 or later.

iTunes 11 or later

Season Passes and completed TV seasons

When you purchase a TV season or Season Pass, you'll be presented with three options:

  • Clicking the Later button will not download any episodes. You'll be able to download your episodes at any time from iTunes in the Cloud.
  • Clicking the Download All button will download all available episodes.
  • Clicking the Download button will download the earliest unseen episode of the season.

Complete my TV season or complete my Season Pass

When you choose to complete a TV season or Season Pass, you'll be presented with three options:

  • Clicking the Later button will not download any episodes. You'll be able to download your episodes at any time from iTunes in the Cloud.
  • Clicking the Download All button will download all available episodes.
  • Clicking the Download button will download the most recent episode of the season. For example, if the most recently aired episode was episode 12, when you click Download, episode 12 will download.

Movie bundles

When you purchase a movie bundle, you'll be presented with three options:

  • Clicking the Later button will not download any of the movies from the bundle. You'll be able to download your movies at any time from iTunes in the Cloud.
  • Clicking the Download All button will download all movies from the movie bundle.
  • Clicking the Download button will download the first movie from the series.

Music box sets, individual movies, and TV episodes

When you purchase a box set, you'll be presented with two options:

  • Clicking the Later button will not download any songs or videos. You'll be able to download your purchase at any time from iTunes in the Cloud.
  • Clicking the Download button will download all available songs from the box set or individual movie or TV episode.

iOS 6 or later

Season Passes or completed TV seasons

When purchasing a TV season or Season Pass on an iOS device, you'll be presented with two options:

  • Tapping the Later button will not download any episodes. You'll be able to download your episodes at any time from iTunes in the Cloud.
  • Tapping the Download button will download the earliest episode of the season. Examples:
    • If you have not purchased or downloaded any episodes from a season, episode 1 of that season will download.
    • If you have previously purchased or downloaded episode 3 of a season, episode 4 of that season will download.

Complete my TV season or complete my Season Pass

When you choose to complete a TV season or Season Pass on an iOS device, you'll be presented with two options:

  • Tapping the Later button will not download any episodes. You'll be able to download your episodes at any time from iTunes in the Cloud.
  • Tapping the Download button will download the most recent episode of the season. For example, if the most recently aired episode was episode 12, when you tap Download, episode 12 will download.

When you purchase a movie bundle, you'll be presented with two options:

  • Tapping the Later button will not download any movies from the bundle. You'll be able to download your movies at any time from iTunes in the Cloud.

When you purchase a box set, individual movie, or TV episode using an iOS device, you'll be presented with two options:

  • Tapping the Later button will not download any songs or videos. You'll be able to download your purchase at any time from iTunes in the Cloud.
  • Tapping the Download button will download all available songs from the box set or individual movie or TV episode.

Additional Information

Some features are not available in all countries and require the support of iTunes in the Cloud. If your region or country does not have the support of iTunes in the Cloud, your content will download at the time of purchase.

Note: When purchasing a Multi-Pass, the most recent episode, if available, will begin to download immediately. You will receive an email as new episodes become available. New episodes will be available in "Purchased in the iTunes Store" on your computer or iOS device, or in TV Shows > Purchased on your Apple TV.
