Apple TV: Arranging and hiding icons on the main menu

Learn how to adjust the arrangement and display of icons on the Apple TV main menu.

Before you begin, make sure your Apple TV software is up to date.

Rearrange icons

You can rearrange most of the icons on your Apple TV's main menu (Podcasts, iCloud Photos, Trailers, and more).

  2. Press and hold Select on the remote.
  3. When the icon starts to jiggle, use the remote to move the icon to a new position.
  4. Press Select again to finish.

You can repeat these steps to move other icons.

Hide icons using the Apple Remote

  1. Select the icon you want to hide.
  2. Hold down the Select button on the remote until the icon starts to jiggle.
  3. Press the Play/Pause button for more options.
  4. Select Hide This Item.
Note: If Restrictions are on, you might need to enter your passcode.

Hide icons using the Settings menu

  1. From the main menu, go to Settings > Main Menu
.
Note: If Restrictions are on, you might need to enter your passcode.
  2. Select the service you want to hide.
  3. Select Hide from the options.

Note: If you're using Apple TV software that's earlier than version 6.1, you can use Settings > General > Restrictions to hide icons on the main menu.
