Adding a presentation to a Keynote widget

If you have already built a presentation and have Keynote 5.1.1 or later installed on your Mac, drag and drop the ".key" presentation file into a Keynote widget in iBooks Author; iBooks Author will open Keynote and perform the HTML conversion. See About Keynote 5.1.1 for more information about this version of Keynote and instructions for updating if you are running an earlier version of Keynote '09.

If your computer with iBooks Author has an earlier version or no version of Keynote, first export your presentation to HTML on a computer with Keynote 5.1.1:

  1. In Keynote, choose Export from the File menu, then click HTML.
  2. Click Next, choose a location to save the exported HTML files, then click Export.

Drag and drop the resulting folder containing the HTML files into iBooks Author.

  1. In iBooks Author, add a Keynote widget.
  2. Drag your exported Keynote HTML folder into the widget.
