MacBook Air: How to find the serial number

You can find your serial number in several places:

• In Mac OS X
• On the surface of the computer
• On the original product packaging
• On the original receipt (or invoice)

In Mac OS X

On most computers with Mac OS X, you can find the serial number in the About This Mac window.

On the surface of the computer

MacBook Air (Late 2010), MacBook Air (Mid 2011), MacBook Air (11-inch, Mid 2012), and MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2012).

Shut down your computer and turn it over. The serial number is centered below the regulatory markings as shown below.

On the original product packaging

If you still have the original packaging for your MacBook Air, you can find the serial number on the barcode label that is affixed to the packaging.

On the original receipt (or invoice)

Some retailers may include the serial number of your MacBook Air on the receipt.
