Syncing contacts and calendars to iPod with iTunes for Windows

iTunes can sync your contacts and calendars from Microsoft Outlook and contacts from Windows Address Book or Windows Contacts to any iPod with a display screen (Outlook 2003 or later is required to sync contacts and calendars from Outlook).

Before you begin, get the latest version of iTunes.

To configure iTunes to sync contacts to your iPod:

  1. Open iTunes and connect your iPod.
  2. Click the Devices button in the upper-right corner. (If viewing the iTunes Store, click the Library button first.) If you don't see your device, you may need to hide the sidebar. 
  3. Click the Info tab.
  4. Select "Sync contacts from."
  5. From the menu, choose the program (Outlook, Windows Address Book, or Windows Contacts) that contains the contacts you want to sync with your iPod.
  6. Click Apply.

If you have trouble syncing your calendar with your iPod, learn how to resolve issues with iPod contact and calendar syncing. The maximum supported number of contacts varies by iPod model. iPod nano (6th generation) doesn't support syncing contacts and calendars.
